I launched this blog ten years ago this month, and it has
languished for eight of those years. It
is time for a resurrection – a revival that will be the result of the fact that
I am in an altogether different professional place now than I was in 2006.
I started this blog when I was a member of the faculty in
the College of Education at West Chester University, a member of the Board of
School Directors of the Kennett Consolidated School District, and a member of
the administrative staff of Camp Treetops, a progressive children’s summer camp
in Lake Placid, NY. As a result, the few
blog posts I posted during the last decade centered around topics related to my
work in those educational organizations – activities going on in my college
classroom, musings related to the school board, and the great things going on
at my summer job.
I am in new positions now, ones that likewise influence my
thinking and inspire me to want to share those thoughts, but now the topics
will be different. Over the course of
the next few blog posts, you will get a sense of my new affiliations and undoubtedly see why I am
revitalizing the blog. There is lots to
write about.
It is important to note that my opinions are mine alone, and
do not necessarily reflect those of the organizations with which I am now
affiliated.
Until next time…
